I just researched all this earlier this year. I know my memory is going but what I found was = Cat6a "is" Cat7.
Cat7 is an ISO standard and used outside of the USA.
TIA/EIA is an American organization and they didn't want to recognize the Cat7 moniker. They recognize Cat6a as the standard.
They both have the same performance specs.
I agree, it is a jumbled mess of BS. Because organizations can't agree or you have someone disagree and a create their own organization, then blah blah blah.
