Likely variables to be considered would be if vehicle was locked, weapon was loaded, weapon was in cabin or trunk. A dealer close by here had 72 hand guns stolen in a smash and grab about a month back. So far one was recovered in an incident in Baltimore. Personally, I think anyone who has a weapon stolen from an unlocked vehicle deserves a kick in the balls and prompt removal of wallet.
