Get a heavy rubber mat, and you'll like it.

I got the heavy mat back when I had my 3500 Dually, and kept it for my current 2500HD.

The only time you won't like it, is when something is all the way to the front of the bed. Things just do not slide.

I also have a Extang Full Tilt cover on my truck, and that thing is the real deal. Easy to open, and is waterproof.

Were i still chasing jobs, and dragging a lot of tools around, I would also have a bed slide.
