I reread that the problem only occurs in one of 20 attempts. This is normal.
When the new code set boxes came out, favorites were so bad I just told clients they will no longer work. Moving forward, I did not do favorites on any new remotes I set up.
Over time, the boxes have gotten better and URC codes are now better, so I sometimes will do favorites. But I ALWAYS tell the client that the new boxes are not as bulletproof as the old, so if the favorite misfires, hit exit and retry.
Sometimes leaving ENTER out of the macro so the accuracy of the channel number can be seen before hitting ENTER may be called for.
Bottom line, these boxes/codes are not as good as they used to be. One fail in 20 I would call GOOD. Set expectations if you plan to do favorites.
