On the other hand, if you buy yourself a Pronto, you could easily learn all the commands! I'm an A/V installer and I carry a Pronto simply because it will learn just about any command I need to use. It doesn't bother me that the Pronto cost about $60 when I bought it... which was after Philips rebuilt it... which was after a good five years of service somewhere.
There's a saying that in many do-it-yourself realms, there are three factors: Good Cheap Fast You may pick two. You'll never get all three. And if one of the ones you pick is excessively so, you might not get either of the other two!
That is, the remote you have is chalk cheap. So cheap that working with it probably won't be fast and may never be good.
Raise your budget.
