Does the AVR have component out? You could see if the component in goes out the component. You could also check for a manual to the Sony to see if it upconverts. It could have a problem. On the integras that were known for the bad hdmi chips, stopping upconverting was one of the symptoms of a chip going bad.
Component and composite outs Fins. Are you suggesting run component to the display from the AVR? The customer only has SAT and this DVD combo as sources which the AVR can handle. I could run component for everything. All digital audio to the AVR. Your thoughts.
