How about sell the client what works for what they want? Some clients are fine with music only systems. Some want lighting control, hvac, cams etc but are fine with multiple apps. Others want it all on one app.

I think the thing thats getting lost in this discussion is not that systems like c4 are the "universal remote" of "smart home devices" but that system based control allows for cross platform control of multiple devices in single instances, schedules, etc that unless your customer can figure out wink, iftt, or whatever hes not going to get with app based control. I know there is limited music/lighting scene control with Sonos/Cassetta but it really is more than that. I really does allow you to sell more items when you can integrate more items. Its about saying "yes" to the client more. Its about giving the client some items that will make their lives just that much easier and more fun and after-all....isnt that what we do?
