Insurance is more for a van that you declare is for business purposes than a van declared as being simply for personal use. All of us should AT LEAST be getting insurance for business as a contractor or artisan. As I understand it, the price is higher when the van has signage, simply because signage identifies it as a target more likely to have valuable contents than a plain old van.
I knew a guy in the 1990s who did antennas well into his seventies. (In his memory I'd like to show his picture and a youtube video he made. Let me just warn you by saying that whenever he met someone, he said "don't worry -- cancer isn't contagious.")
Nobody ever stole ANYTHING from his van. It ran quite well but looked like a piece of crap from the outside. Perfect camouflage!
