My mom has been buying leatherman type tools as far back as i can remember. I personally don't care for them but she swears by them. Every few months shes got a new one with a new feature.
I've had the same model for 8 or so years, since i started using one. Only reason I have replaced is when its gotten worn or if I broke it. I didn't think i would care for it either at first. I didn't even buy the first one, my father in law gave it to me for Xmas. Seriously one of the best gifts I ever got.
