Possibly some redneck enginuity. Purposely spelled that way. Picture this. A completely enclosed fort 8x8 in size sitting 5 ft off ground on top of 6 4X4 post. How would one lower it to the ground without a crane? Needs to land in one piece as it will become a lawnmower shed. Explosives would be the most fun, but it is getting a second life.

Is the ground flat, sloped, undulating? Easy access for equipment?

Do you want to lower it and keep it in that location? What about the walls and roof- how high and how are they constructed? Do you have a weight estimate?

If you have access to an electric chain hoist, you could use lifting straps, arranged as a sling that's similar to the kind used for lifting boats. You would need some lumber and hardware to build a gantry crane but the materials could be sold or re-purposed.

Doesn't need to be steel, but it would obviously need to support the weight without racking. 4x4 should be OK but you would want to make sure there's no side load. The cross member could be 2x12, doubled or tripled and bolted together with construction adhesive. Hang the chain hoist at the center, hang the sling and lift, remove the posts and lower it.

My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."
