Those early MLX-3s were pretty hit or miss. We sold 10 MLX-3s on a job right when they came out. In fact, we actually had to wait a few weeks for them to ship, so I think was in '08-ish..? I believe we ended up replacing more than half of those due to scroll wheels or screen fade.

It would be pretty sweet if they put the MLX-3 screen on an HR-150. The MLX-3 is a nice remote for the most part, but the scroll wheel with the push-button isn't too intuitive. They crush through batteries pretty hard. And they pretty much explode if you drop them on a hard surface. Dodgy scroll wheels, screen fade...OK, I take it back, they kinda suck...

And another thing! lol... Why are they super simple to acquire, but have a stupid command line procedure to UN-acquire? Which is NOT in the manual. I mean, it wouldn't be an issue if ya didn't have to replace half of them!
