It depends on the client. If it's just a home theater without the need for any feedback, HR-150 is awesome. Needs/wants some feedback, MLX3. Has too much money, TSR-302. I don't have many customers with iPads or tp's for this, everybody likes to have a remote that fits in their hand.
The only time I would put in an MLX-3 is if you want to visit the house 6 months down the road because the scroll wheel and/or top power button stopped working. Then you get to visit one or two days later with an advanced replacement.
Depending on what control either the HR-150 or TSR-302. If lighting control is to be separated then the TSR-302. If you are programming lighting events to happen when the client presses TV or Movie then the HR-150 may be good enough.
Would be nice if they came out with something similar to the HR-150 but with an LCD screen similar to the MLX-3, or modify the TSR-302 and remove all the other bells and whistles to reduce the cost similar to the MTX-3.
If you are on crestronlabs forum, check out the crestron suggestion box, UI suggestions, cheaper version of TSR-302, page 2. About half way down someone had created mock-ups of two models where Crestron is missing the mark between the HR-150 and TSR-302.
If you aren't on labs here is the link to the image, hopefully it works for everyone.
