No answer, just a comment. Why are we worried and why are clients always pissing pants when they ask for something so far from normal? A mounted tv in this case. Asking for something they have probably never seen. But with a few tooth pics and some tape you can do it cheap right? Quote it, waste little time and move on to jobs with clients that won't piss pants.
Agreed. Building something like Trak-Kit from scratch is going to cost more than $3000 and probably suck. If the client wants it they have to pay for it.
We did the installation mentioned in my post from 2014 above. We ended up having to call in a Miami (Florida project) firm to adjust programming at the motors so that we could get it working perfectly.
Client loves it. He uses it every day. Both TV's are moved to the center of the room every day in the Gym side and during the summer it gets used at night for the pool deck. It has been in operation for just over 2 years now and so far we have had to replace 1 HDMI cable and 1 power cord (heavy duty extension cord). I think these were both damaged during initial installation when the TV's started spinning like crazy when we were trying to test Crestron control of the device. Other than that it seems to be solid.
