I have a couple of non-responsive buttons

I called support to ask about ordering a membrane but they won't sell them directly.
It would cost $25 and require being without the remote for a few days since it would need to be shipped.

Does anyone know if/where I can buy the membrane?

I found a few threads about repairing the buttons, but haven't seen a method that seems to hold up over time.
