Since one of the major technical differences between those two models, is the audio capability and connections - the menus in the audio sections are where the most differences are at.
But I get what you are saying.

But there are still going to be a limited amount of options that you can still guess at based on past experience.

I mean, pick a device. Anything modern. Off the top of my head under settings/setup there is an audio sub menu. In that menu will be options for Digital out - Auto/HDMI/PCM or Digital (Digital being coax or optical) and possibly DD+ or the newer Dolby and DTS formats. If DD+ isn't there it is under surround or format which will also have an option to switch to stereo out. You will also find options for menu sounds/clicks, bitrate, downmix, and possibly things like speaker setup.

I mean, if we are all PROS shouldn't that be as normal to us as Teaching Kids to count is to Count Von Count?

Having been down this road with customers hundreds (or even thousands) of times (as I'm sure many of us have); it is usually futile to try and walk a customer thru a menu system over the phone. Time to charge a service call.

Depends on the Customer, I have had good luck with walking customers through menus over the phone.

But I also know my customers and know which ones to attempt that with and which ones to say I'll come by in ___________.

But yeah.
