Client is all ready to buy a brand-new freezer, because their appliance friend said freezers don't last more than eight years. Theirs is eight years old and is working fine. They are afraid that if they are away from home for an extended period, they might lose all their food.
Other than CCP remotes for the family room, they have no home automation. I don't think they want to ramp up for this one issue, and I don't want to do a full system and be responsible if the Internet goes down and they don't get a text message when their freezer goes off. I thought I would ask if there are simpler ways to do this.
At the cost of whatever you are going to put in, tell them to buy a 2nd freezer and split the food down the middle. RAID F configuration (for freezer).
