If I remember correctly, older XM or Siris, when they were separate. Used a two antenna system. One for the normal satellite signal and the other for testeral signals. Of course the mobile radios needed this more.
But if there's a new radio involved, then I don't know if a new antenna is needed. I know that the newer radios use one antenna for the satellites and testeral signals.
