I need to add a new audio preamplifier (Constellation Audio) to an existing Crestron system. The good news -- it has extensive set of serial commands. The bad news -- it does not have an accessible RS232 port, only USB port with a built-in FTDI USB-to-Serial converter.

I connected it to my computer with a terminal program, and it works like a charm.

So, how can I control it with 3-Series controller? Of course, I can connect the preamp to a PC, then find some code which would allow telnet access to that port... but having a PC dedicated just for this purpose is kinda ridiculous. Even a Raspberry PI...

I could not find a single off-the-shelf device which can connect USB port to Ethernet and allow simple telnet access.

So, what is the best way to solve this problem?
