That's stupid. I should not have to press an "away" button. The damn system should know that I've left home by the fact that my cell phone is no longer connected to the wifi.
Which is to say, all the lights will go out if you have to turn your phone off and on or otherwise take it out of action.

While that might work, I don't think it would be better. It would be handing one more manufacturer your location data!
