You missed something truly bizarre: the Best Picture Award was given to the wrong picture!
After a few thank-you speeches, it turned out that a copy of the Best Actress card had been given to Warren Beatty. He balked at reading it out loud because he knew something was wrong, so he shoved it in front of Faye Dunaway, who glanced at it and read La La Land. A couple minutes later there was commotion on the stage and it was explained that it should be Moonlight.
Stranger than fiction.
I have a low tolerance for awards shows, so I don't watch for long unless I know someone who's in the running or it's a case of bizarre timing, like last night.
