The last two started from scratch, both using the Siri remote. Once I started using the Siri remote, it seemed to be paired to where I could not get the unit to accept IR. Or something else I could not explain.

I ended up going into settings, remote control, and "teaching" the AppleTV each command. Trouble is, once the menu and cursors are done, you want to do transport buttons. After learning one or two, it reports that I am reusing an earlier learned command and will not accept it.

Finally I set the URC remote to use transport commands from a random Denon cassette deck near the top of the list so I can get done.

Am I right that leaving the Siri Remote in the box is going to give success, but pairing it opens a can of worms?
