I'm not an Apple user so can't say first hand, but when I saw the video few months ago, it looked cool.
You're also wrong about them being the first to come out with it and not stealing the idea from others.
Someone had this out 3 or 4 years ago, but idea never took of because OEM's on PC side didn't want to commit to hardware without software support, and software developers didn't want to spend time designing GUI without knowing what if any demand was going to be.
