How about just adding 4-6 IR emitter ports that are simply tied to the blaster? Maybe a customize-able UI instead of a screen full of text based buttons... With a few tweaks, this could be halfway decent.
There might be an opportunity for you to generate and sell some device "shells" that a customer can string together.
My take on this is that the box receives HTTP requests and the user interface runs in a browser and can be generated using standard HTML editing tools. If the user is able to operate in this environment this might be an OK DIY package.
