I'm with you Craig,
I've got a SR-7002 that is not likely to be upgraded anytime soon, and a 1080P Panasonic 50" plasma which i like a lot. If the TV went to heaven and i was looking for a new one, i would definitely take the Sony 1080P over a 4K LG. The dispatch door at the LG factory should have a conveyor belt that leads straight into the back of a garbage truck.
I don't care if a turd is half price, it's still a turd.
Given that almost nothing we watch on a day to day basis is going to available in 4K for quite a while yet, i'd be happy with another 1080P TV for now.
