Just confirmed that a Joey plugged in via CAT5 to the router while the Hopper 3 via 2.4GHz will work as well.

I can only assume the Hopper 3 plugged in via CAT5 will work as well.

Changing channels is just about the same speed in either wifi or CAT5. But I am not sure if there's a difference from the coax. I have both the Joey 2 and Hopper 3 in the same room right now and on different TVs. IR enabled on both and there's a very small delay in a channel change. Not sure if it's because the Hopper 3 is actually doing the channel change and I am forcing the system to change two at the same time.

But nevertheless, this delay is about a 1/2 second or less. Even when done separately.
