All, I have an MX-780 that was programmed by the audio-visual company I hired about 3 years ago. It serves as the remote for our DirecTV receiver, an xbox, a blu-ray player, and SONOS. The salesman was kind enough to provide a copy of the CCP software at the time. Between then and now, we switched to Uverse and I was able to update the software so the 780 would control the Uverse receiver.

Fast forward to December 2016 and we are back with DirecTV. At time of install we were provided with a HR 54 receiver, but the old receiver was an HR 24. So in order to have a good starting point, I re-downloaded the original .CCP file where the old HR 24 was programmed in and working in the 780. This actually allows the 780 to control most of the functions of the HR 54, even though the device model in the CCP software still points to the HR 24 model. EXCEPT, the Guide button will NOT work. I am so baffled here. The MENU, INFO, and EXIT buttons (all "learned") are working fine, but not the GUIDE button. I tried to "relearn" the button through the software, but for some reason when I go "head to head" in learning mode, the 780 and the DTV remote don't seem to be connecting. I'm not sure if that would help, since all the other buttons that are learned are working fine.

Any thoughts anyone might have here would be much appreciated. Does anyone know if an HR 54 model set of codes are available to download to the CCP software? Or is there another device I should choose that would more closely match the later DTV receiver model? I just cannot believe ALL other functions can be controlled by the 780 except the Guide. From a viewing perspective, the guide is probably the most used function, so its pretty much a deal killer when it comes to completely switching from the DTV provided remote to the 780.

Thanks for reading.

Jim
