Long story short, newly connected system, went to write file to processor from new laptop. Unable to connect. Or should I say I am able to connect (XP8 shows up as "RTI device" when connected to computer yet I am unable to write to it or check firmware)?
XP8 also shows up on the network using a network scanner but doesn't show up as being able to be written to when I try to go to it over the network.

Windows diagnostic says it could be a USB 2.0 to 3.0 issue. RTI tech support claims that it was bad cable (one of theirs). Tested 2x cables on an XP3 on the same system. No issues loading to XP3. XP3 also shows up as an available networked device and I am able to write to it via IP. File was written to have XP8 as a primary and the XP3 was added as a slave. I had to rewrite a fair bit of the file to temporarily drop the XP8 and make the XP3 a master processor to get some of the house up and running.

Do I have a broken XP8s?
RTI tech support pretty much immediately wrote it off as an issue with my computer and or USB cables (I had to buy a new programming machine, this was the first RTI project I have done on it). RTI USB drivers were loaded. My previous computer (macbook pro) never had any issue with connecting to any XP series processor via USB. Both it and my new programming machine are USB 3.0 only.

I have several hours lost to this issue and this client is about the least patient person in the world. Anybody have any ideas?

It has been years since I had any communication issues with RTI processors via USB so I am kind of stumped.
