Make sure the extender set is NOT POC. POC (Power Over Cable) is not approved by Valens, who owns HDBT. POC can have "flyback" voltage which can cause damage to a source or dispaly/projector.

Many manufacturers use POC to save money. Depending on how many amps are being drawn on that circuit, there could be a brown out issue contributing to this. Brown outs can add to flyback voltage when they occur.

Always use PoE regardless of the manufacturer you purchase from. POE designs are vetted by Valens.
