Add a "few lights" that blink as the mailbox scene, but that don't turn off or change any other scene. A couple of blue LEDs might do the trick. Something then turns those off when you do whatever you do to retrieve the mail. Meanwhile, the comfort scene, or whatever, simply stays on.
This could use a "back" button, which I haven't seen since the Marantz RC5200.
