Listen to Tom. The deep color setting is there and it has been known to cause issues sometimes with certain equipment.
While you are in there turning deep color off, put the color setting to YPbPr 4:4:4 as well. Also look at the resolution, default is 'auto', change that to 1080p fixed.
One last thing, turn HDMI CEC off on the Sony BD.
All of this "is" in the menu.
WHAT HE SAID!!!!!!!!!
Until UHD/BD players, there was no deep color. TURN IT OFF!
Also, general info for UHD/BD Players.
Samsung: OK Device, Outputs 12 Bit Color, PIA to Setup
XBox 1S: Slightly better than OK device, Outputs 10 Bit Color, Best Setup to date
Panasonic: Slightly better than Samsung overall
Phillips: Meh.
