Thinking is not really his strong suit. An edid issue shouldn't cause no audio. Could it be an input assignment on the Integra?

I'm not sure, my "boss" - the guy I help, who has been doing this stuff for about 20 years, handles all that. I'm trying to learn more because following him isn't exactly like learning in the way that I learn best. I initially thought it could be something like that though, an assignment on the integra or in the cable box. He says he has it right, and after all, it has worked this way for so long that it doesn't make sense for it to not work now, but, as someone else said, they've run into cable boxes that have this problem, they just block the alternative signal when hdmi is hooked up.
Everyone should learn something new every day.
