I still might need those, but I just solved my first problem: this thing wants to stream, not play BDs. There's a Netflix button, and it's easy to get it to go there, but I was having a really hard time programming a remote to get it to play BDs!
Finally, while writing the first version of this post, it occurred to me to try a button I had not pushed: FAVORITES.
FAVORITES takes it right out of streaming (Netflix, anyway), bypasses any rude menus or bothersome choices, and starts the BD.
What the hell? How does "FAVORITES" translate to "play whatever disc happens to be in the player? Or am I going to get a rude surprise that it means something else some other time?
Time to crack the manual, though it didn't help me much the first time.
