I'm beginning the long upgrade path for an older system, first the remote. I'm considering using a MRX-8 and a TRC-1080. (Customer wants a real remote, not a phone/pad) My issue is that there is no network connection in the cabinet and no practical options for pulling wires.
I'm looking for ideas.
Power line is one possibility, but the cabinet outlet will be shared with a big APC A/V power distribution box. I expect that the APC will shunt the EoP carrier.
A WiFi extender might be an option. Generally, I hate those things. Does someone know of one that works in this context? (It could be ugly, there's plenty of room to bury it in the cabinet.)
Sonos would be perfect for this, but that's not in the cards for this system at this time. (Although, an interesting thought would be to use a couple of BRIDGE's. They are inexpensive on eBay)
