I was just sitting there about 9:30 (in SC) seeing the window and rain die down and thinking I was in the clear, when the power glitched three times in a row and transformers started lighting up. It wasn't like we had particularly high winds anyway, only about 25MPH. But it was enough apparently. I finally got power back four hours later, and dang was I glad of that. I was taking boredom to new heights.
Nothing like what folks further south experienced of course. But it was really annoying. Particularly because the weather folks always overplay things. So a couple days ago I was worrying that it was going to be pretty bad here, then every time I checked the weather it was getting less and less dire. By today I was like, OK, it's just going to be some light rain and a little wind, nothing to worry about. But then I end up having the longest power outage I've had in the 2.5 years I've lived at this place (though nowhere near my week plus length record back during Hugo.)
I can't imagine dealing with a Hugo length outage these days.
