Today I had to go through some conduit the sparky installed for running a line. Glow rods didn't even come close, tried a rg6 with the end rounded off but no go. Must have been a really tight bend in the tube.
Ran down to my local electrical supplier and they had a display with Canfor Polyester fish tapes. The display had a 1" conduit with crazy bends and these fish tapes run through them. Tried it out and bought 1 for myself. Best fish tape I have used for getting around tight bends.

I saw an electrician with one of those things once. Pretty cool - for some reason never picked one up.
For getting through conduit, I've been using a steel fish tape with a wire sleeve (

I like using those wire sleeves as well for pulling wire through conduit. The rounded plastic tip makes it slide around corners really well, and the sleeve portion which is a couple of feet long is also "slippery" and keeps the initial friction around the corners to a minimum.
