That's very likely but what shocked/annoyed me is that someone who speaks Spanish natively does not know that cinco = five and mayo = May...I'm the whitest guy around who speaks no foreign languages; even I understand when Cinco de Mayo is !
Saying "may 5th" to someone who doesnt know what the historical significance means is like saying "friday the 13" to someone who doesnt watch horror movies.
