Speaking of moca, if i understand this thread correctly, customer has directv genie in living room. ONLY a coaz going to it. Y'all are saying I can put something on that coax, have them still get directv and whole home AND strip out the internet so i can now have a jack right there at that directv genie box location?

I have a scenario where I need to add a sonos bridge to stream the directv audio out to a play 1. Sounds like this moca stripping would work?

Not quite. Moca is incompatible with DirecTV. You'd use DECA in that case, which is compatible with satellite frequencies and voltages. Moca only works with OTA and cable, not satellite.

If you change the word in your question from Moca to DECA, then yes, the coax cable carries the sat signal, whole home and internet. DECA hardware is also far cheaper than Moca hardware. All you'd need to do is put a DECA adapter where you want to connect the sonos.
