Every 4 years we go through the seemingly never ending circus of candidates for POTUS and their promise of change. The general public wants change and thus buys into this promise.
However the President is the head of only the Executive branch of the government. The Legislative branch (Congress) has a much greater say over what our government does.
Yet members of Congress are almost always reelected. Once in, you have to really screw up to not get reelected. Though not a Congressional race, this is, sadly, typical of American reelections when the candidate has a less that sterling reputation:
[Link: thedailybeast.com]The American public is fed up with Washington DC government and wants it to change. They vote for a POTUS candidate to get that change even though the change has to come from Congress. And they reelect the same scoundrels over and over.
It didn't work in the last election, the one before that, and the one before ......
Isn't this the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over expecting the results to be different?
