The TSU6000/7500 were made for the consumers in mind. Where they could either hire someone to program the remotes, or do it themselves. With or with out a computer.
Where as the TSU9400/9600 were only sold by custom installers. As they were, originally, the only ones with the software to program the remotes. So everything had to be done on the computer for these two remotes. Now that Philips backed out of the Pronto remote business several years ago. They released the Pronto Pro Edit software to our website here. Any one can download and program their own 9400/9600 remotes. But you should be comfortable with programming, even for the basic stuff. I personally had this 9400 remote for a few years and still don't know Pronto Script. I do have basic knowledge to get it up and running though.
