Short of the long of it.
Long Distance 'Full 18 G" options.
HDBaseT:
No, current is 4K/30. Claims of a new chip (2311) to support beyond 10 G have been published for 18 months, to date not available for testing.

Redmere:
There is a new 8300 series chip, that will in theory support the "Full 18 G" but the fail rate has been close to 100% and the China manufacturers are panicking.

Here is where it will get a bit self serving;

Ethereal:
We have two options;
Velox Active Cable:
Our Velox product has an active module "Targa 1" designed by Jeff B. and it will support the "Full 18 G" to a cable length up to 15 meters, great for readily available runs.*

GA1 "Gigabit Accelerator": The GA1 is an inline restorer mounted at the display that is USB powered and will take an existing PASSIVE Cable up to 15 meters (17 meters with our MHX cable) and provide you with a "Full 18 G". Just connect a passive 2 meter or less cable between the GA1 and the display.

Note:

My personal preference is to go the passive cable route, Active cables (from anyone) have a brickwall at the upper end of their Freq. range and there is no way to push them past that wall. Passive cables offer a greater longevity for you installations.

* Please note that we are starting to see a lot of displays that DO NOT provide enough current to properly support the Active Cable module (any Active cable), to this end we have created the HDM-ACVS (Active Cable Voltage Stabilizer) to fix this issue. It will go on the display side of the system.
