There is programming involved to add this to the existing system (programmed using Crestron System Builder so takes 2-3x longer). it would cost $300-$400 in programming for a $60-$80 streaming device. Where as swapping out the DVD player they just need to spend the money on the player, the most used commands are already programmed into the system.
