How many separate zones do you need fixed and variable output on?
Back in the good old days, if it were for a single zone, I would specify a niles sas 1 on the zone.
I'd run the speaker wire from the zone in question through the switch, and set it to trigger voltage when the zone was on, and then trigger the amp with that.
