I would reccomed putting the 1812 into intercom mode and using an unused CO in the 824. Set it for a different chime.
Takes the phone line out of the equation. Especially if they still use the analog phone line!
Agree, just plug the 1812 phone output into unused CO input on the phone system and change 1812 programming to Intercom mode.
