Oops get another cup of coffee - need analog to digital or coax to optical.

Who needs the coffee?

Your above correction says you need
analog (analog) to digital (coax)
or
coax (wired digital) to optical (Toslink).

In other words, you can use either a coax or a optical signal. That's why someone commented it could take two devices to do this.

I think you got tripped up there by using both the words digital and coax. Coax is wired and, to tell the truth, coax and Toslink are BOTH digital, but we don't refer to Toslink by the single word "digital."

The thread title says you need
coaxial (wired digital) to Toslink (optical)
or
analog (analog) to Toslink (optical).
In other words, you need an optical signal and only an optical signal.
Your correction of someone else did not match the thread title.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
