This is a good time to come up with a policy for this. I think truck roll + the time for employees is fair.

So however many guys times however many hours plus the trip fee is more than fair.

Even if you charge for this you still lose because you had planned that full day and you had to pay your employees for the full day and then i imagine you had to screw around with the schedule to get back out there.
