Niles SI series amps do not work with Sonos systems. I have had the same issues using the Niles amps with sonos. Amp gains set to 11:00 sonos at half volume running one pair of 8 ohm speakers and the Niles goes into protection, after a few protection trips and the amp has to go back to Niles for a new main board. On both occasions I replaced the Niles amps with Parasound and have no issues.
No more Niles for me!!
