Even if it were going through the screws... Then why were the screws not going through both boards?
It certainly appears from the pictures of the boards that the screws go through all boards. There are threaded inserts on the power supply, and matching metal inserts (possibly threaded?) on each board that appear designed to increase surface contact with the fastener.
But that is just my guess, and I am
almost certainly one of the least technical people on this board.
