We had to bail out this year. I was looking forward to my first trip to CEDIA after nearly 15 years....but we have way too much work to do....I guess that is a good thing. I am not too anxious for anything new. UHD is still a logistic cluster....and I do not expect any simplification on that front this year.
I would hope to see a whole new programming platform for Elan G! with more stable software, a complete plethora of new IP drivers, etc.
Maybe some indication from C4 that we are moving towards some new features to take advantage of the android TP platform, and some more UI flexibility. The Elan G! app is much more snappy and responsive than the C4 app. That should be fixed ASAP.
Tivo Bolt is cool...I want to be the first with a RSH for that turd. New Apple TV and Roku are already announced or released, so nothing surprising there. New SONOS still does not support high res. New Kscape? Is it going to follow UHD bluray specs and allow full 4K HDR movie downloads/ripping? Will is still work on a gigabit LAN? Limited to a few simultaneous streams? I will believe it when I see it. I would love to get one some day.
If I had my choice, I would rather hit up RMAF and hang out with all the audio geeks. Our side of the industry is too chaotic and headache inducing these days. I think I need to buy a lot on the beach next to TSS!
