Nugent forgot to add the fact that Kennedy's liberal decision to support the civil rights movement caused a huge nationwide party shift of deep south democrats to the republican party. Even those still claiming to be democrats would vote for republicans on the national stage.
Nugent also forgot that this is when the evangelicals were brought into the political game by the republican party. The democratic party is not the same party today as it was then. Hell neither is the republican party. I can remember when republicans were sane conservatives who didn't want big government or big spending unlike todays republicans that spend faster than they can steal it from the middle class. Actually most of those people are now democrats.

The only "evidence" of this is a friend of his saying he was more of a liberal type and liked Obama. Nothing about being a registered democrat or whether or not hes ever voted.

Maybe not but there is no proof backing it up.
*SOLUTION:* *It should be illegal for Democrats to own guns.*Best idea I've heard to date!
A better solution would be to have a national background check system put in place and force gun owners to renew their licenses periodically where written and range tests have to be passed. Almost every single person listed about was seeking mental health treatment. None should have been allowed to own guns.
