hmmm, Toshiba and pretty much no one else vs. Sony, Samsung, Pioneer and most major movie studios.
How the hell anyone got behind HDDVD is completely beyond me.
Yes, I was behind BluRay from day one after reviewing the players involved.

I think I will sorta disagree on this.

I think the eventual winner was decided by which studios got behind releasing content, not which mfgs were making the hardware. HDDVD had the studio lead early in that race, but then a few of those studios announced dual participation and then BD pulled into the lead and never looked back.

If you recall, Samsung even made a player that supported both formats. I had one. It was a piece of $hit, like all other BD players, but it did play both formats
